The appointment is for a period of five years or till the date of attaining the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.

17 Judicial and Technical members in the NCLT were retired during June-July, 2022 and most of benches of NCLT across the country were only siting for either half of the day and therefore, there was a pressing need for appointment of new members in NCLT.
